FAQs on Letterhead Design and Printing at Centerville Web Design

Why do I need professional letterhead design in the first place?

You might not. The Web has made correspondance by mail seem inefficient. We've got cell phones, fax machines and laser scanners, and they can all transmit printed materials. As the Web continues to grow, mail will likely become even pricer on a cost-basis analysis. But, there's still something to be said for the power of mail -- especially as other companies stop spending resources on it. Sending sharp, professionally-designed mail stands out more in this landscape. It can give you company a personal touch that keeps your business on the mind of your customers.

When deciding whether or not you need letterhead, your primary concern should be the amount of time you spend printing your own letterhead and envelopes. If it's several hours a week, making the investment in professionally-design letterhead and envelopes is well worth the investment. Not only will you save time, but you'll present a more powerful image as well.

How do you design letterhead for clients?

Our letterhead design and printing process starts with what you. You tell us what you want -- either electronically, or in a face-to-face consultation -- and we'll help bring your ideas to life. If you have an existing logo, we'll need an electronic or paper copy, as well as the relevant content you need (i.e. phone number, fax number, address, Web site, email address, etc.). After we've received all the data you'd like on your letterhead, we'll create three distinct drafts of your letterhead for your business. If you'd like, we can post those drafts online in a poll format so that your friends and family can help you vote on their favorites.

When you've made your final letterhead design selection, we'll make any improvements you suggest before sending you a final copy of the letterhead. Then, it's off to the printers where your letterhead will be produced. We'll arrange for shipping -- or, if you're in the area, we'll drop it off ourselves.

What should my letterhead design look like?

First and foremost, your letterhead design should match the overall theme or feel of your company. Letterhead for a doctor's office will likely look very different from letterhead used by a baby nursery. If you've got a logo for your business, it's important that you use it on all of your marketing materials -- including your letterhead. Letterhead designs should also include all the relevant ways someone might wish to contact you. If you've got a company logo or slogan, you might want to include that in your letterhead design as well.

Some companies elect to add special effects to their letterhead design to make it stand out. These could include watermarks, page bleeds, foil stamping, etc. We typically incorporate things like watermarks in some or all of the three rough drafts of your letterhead design.

How long does it take for you to design letterhead?

We can typically have three drafts of your letterhead designed with three business days. If you'd like it posted online in a poll for your friends and family, that process can take two to three more business days (while we wait for the votes to come in). After you've made your final selection, you can expect to wait an additional eight to 10 days for us to touch up your final draft, get your approval, then print and deliver your letterhead.

Do you offer any special printing effects with your letterhead design?

Certainly. We offer the following enhancements:

  •  Foil stamping
  •  Engraving
  •  Embossing
  •  Metallic Ink

Note: Custom printing effects will be quoted on a job-by-job basis.

OK. You've sold me on your letterhead design services. How can I contact you?
